Tradition with a modern touch
La Tradizione in Chiave Moderna
Located about halfway between Bologna and Modena, in the municipality of Castelfranco Emilia, in a beautiful historic building that was recently renovated, Osteria della Cavazzona offers traditional cuisine with a modern twist.
The restaurant is modern and pleasantly cosy and the kitchen is entrusted to the young Marco Messori, a talented chef with years of experience working in historical restaurants.
Forty seats, well spaced apart, as well as a pleasant summer veranda with the same number of seats, built inside the courtyard and isolated from traffic and noise, are the ideal setting for a top-quality service.
Here everything is homemade, starting from bread and pasta through to desserts.
For the menu, seasonal ingredients are used, selected for their excellence, whereas some dishes are and must always be present: the creamy risotto with Parmesan cheese and balsamic vinegar and the tortellini in capon broth, just to name a few traditional dishes.
Another speciality of Cavazzona is its meat, which is also selected from the best cuts available: T-bone steaks of Italian breeds such as those from Romagna or Marche, beef fillet with rosemary and smoked salt, rabbit lamb, wild boar and Kobe beef, according to availability.
On Fridays at lunchtime, the focus is (and has been for quite a while) on fresh fish, which is much appreciated.
The menu also includes exquisite desserts, such as crème brûlée, zuppa inglese and takeaway panna cotta in three flavours.
Thanks to our excellent wine list, we can recommend the right choice to perfectly enjoy your meal. A very interesting feature is also the splendid mezzanine, where you can sit away from the tables of the restaurant to taste a selection of the best rum (Demerara, Plantation, Zacapa and Caroni), grappe (Bepi Tosolini) and wine distillates (Cognac, Armagnac, Porto and Calvados).
In this way, Osteria della Cavazzona is able to offer an alternative idea for an evening out, without necessarily going to dinner.
